ServersCheck sensors and Nagios

Nagios is one of the most used open source solutions for systems availability monitoring. If your organization already uses Nagios and wishes to integrate environmental monitoring from ServersCheck with it, then this is possible. ServersCheck's sensors are listed on the Nagios Exchange website:
http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Plugins/System-Metrics/Environmental/PoE-%26-SNMP-Environmental-Sensors/details.

Take a look at the screen shots of Nagios at the bottom of this page and see how Nagios monitors ServersCheck sensors.

How does it work?
In order to integrate with Nagios a device needs support the SNMP protocol - a foundation of Nagios. ServersCheck's new sensors using the SensorGateway* support the SNMP protocol natively. Using simple SNMP get requests Nagios users can query our temperature sensors for real time status. Same applies to our humidity, flooding and power failure sensors.

ServersCheck has created a free plug-in for Nagios. This plug-in allows for monitoring lower and upper tresholds for temperature and humidity. Those tresholds are needed to ensure that a sensor are in range - especially for humidity where the recommended range is 45% to 65% of relative non-condensing humidity. Want to test it with your Nagios implementation?
ServersCheck has created a live demo of its sensors whereby a sensor can be queried via SNMP through the Internet. Click on the button below to go to our demo page. Fill in the form on the next page and we will email you the live connection details to the sensors. This will allow you to test it with your Nagios platform.
